Wake up to Your World

Wake up to your world by stretching yourself! My fluffy Maltese, Tally, wakes up every morning by stretching, yawning and stretching some more. He isn't fully awake until he goes through his stretching routine. As Christians we need to wake ourselves up by stretching and learning to do hard things.

James 1:2-4 (The Message) “Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, (you will be stretched) and your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way."

I encourage you to try new things and challenging things! Allow yourself to go through tests and trials without quitting or giving up! This past weekend I attended the Joyce Meyer's women's conference, The Love Revolution. Women were encouraged to expand their vision for the lost and hurting around them. I challege you to wake up to the needs of those hurting around you and then do something about it! Stretch yourself and get out of your comfort zone! Be passionate about helping those who are hurting! When you begin to put the needs of others before your own, you will live the exciting and fulfilled life you were created for!

This weekend, I will be in New York to stretch myself and walk in stilettos for Stop Child Trafficking Now www.sctnow.org. If you you'd like to partner and donate to my walk, my fundraising page is http://sctnow.donordrive.com/participant/ victoriamccarter

I am excited about the opportunity that this walk brings to Senator McCarter and me (as the Senator's wife!) We can use our voice in government to stand up against the horrors of human trafficking. Pray for us as we work for tougher legislation in the state of Illinois against human trafficking. Kyle will be speaking at the Chicago walk against human trafficking on Saturday. We'd love it if you could join the senator in Chicago! Until next time, keep stretching yourself and know that God has exciting and wonderful things in store for you!
